Welcome to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), the premier gateway to Yogyakarta and southern Central Java.

Built to handle increasing passenger demand, the airport features a 3,250-meter runway capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft, and a modern terminal with 96 check-in counters, 10 jet bridges, and over 1,500 square meters of commercial space. It is designed to handle up to 20–24 million passengers annually.

Located in Kulon Progo Regency, about 45 kilometers southwest of Yogyakarta city center, YIA began operations in May 2019 and fully replaced Adisutjipto Airport in March 2020.

YIA serves both domestic and international routes, with flights to Jakarta, Denpasar, Makassar, and international destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. It is a hub for Lion Air and Super Air Jet. In 2023, it handled more than 4.3 million passengers.

The airport is connected to central Yogyakarta by shuttle buses, taxis, and the YIA Rail Link, which offers a direct train service to Yogyakarta Station in under 40 minutes.

Yogyakarta Airport is a key part of the region’s infrastructure, providing improved access to the area’s cultural and historical sites while offering a modern and efficient travel experience.
